✓ How did you cope/manage completing the three days of “Life of a Teacher”

I manage the workload of the life of a teacher due to the support and key points of fellow teachers giving tips on how to handle to workload and also by ensuring that I manage the workload and prepare everything in advance so that nothing is left for the last minute.

✓ How did you feel taking on all the responsibilities of a teacher in Block 1 compared to Block 2?

In Block 1 it was a bit strange due to us not having the classroom to ourselves in terms of running it from the morning to the afternoon with all the duties. As for Block 2, we learned from previous experience and this allowed it to run more smoothly due to us having a prior experience.

✓ Which activities did you find most challenging? How did you overcome these challenges?

The most challenging was time management between lessons where certain lessons were only a single lesson and others double, so work content was covered differently for students. How I overcame this challenge was through the support and key tips that fellow colleagues gave that we as teachers should make small notes of where we stop with different classes to ensure we know which class is where and then for the next lesson we know where to go forward from.

✓ Analyse your results of your self-evaluation survey where would you rate yourself higher?

I would rate myself higher in the categories of knowledge of content and assisting learners

✓ Justify how you have improved these competencies through this experience.

With every day on the school grounds we adjust and adapt to the situations that arise, this allows us to develop and improve our manner of teaching and how we adapt our minds to include our students in the lessons more.

✓ Look at the exit level outcomes and the final comments of your mentor teacher in your School Assessment Log & Report. Compare this to the initial self-evaluation you had completed at the beginning of your teaching experience.

Both the final comments from the mentor teacher and self-evaluation align with one another.

You're reflection on your life a teacher blocks, shows that your management skills and collaboration with others, has developed over time.

Understanding the difficulties that teachers face on a day to day basis, makes you a better teacher and knowing how to overcome those challenges, really develops you in that area.

I am excited to see what you do in the future.
