✓ Consider the effectiveness of the project, considering each component and reflecting on your learning experience as well as the impact on the school or community.
Honestly, the project was not as effective as I would have liked it to be, due to how difficult it was to get the intermediate section of the school management to allow this social action project to occur. It made it very difficult to collect bottle caps and get the drive to happen the way it was intended.
✓ How has service-learning changed you personally?
I enjoyed the opportunity to do a fundraiser to assist someone else in need as it shows how lucky we are as people to have what we have in our lives. It also just shows that when we bring a common goal together anything is achievable.
✓ How has service-learning developed you professionally? What new knowledge, skills and/or attitudes have you gained?
Key points that came out from service learning were to see how we don't always know what difficulties students may have or what they may be struggling with. Service learning gives the opportunity to assist someone in need but also brings the fact to mind that as teachers we need to be focused on our students and be open-minded to always be prepared for any situation.
✓ Describe the benefit of this initiative to the school and comment on its sustainability.
The benefit of this for a school is it brings a learning chance for their students to see how important it can be to work together for a common goal, but more importantly how it feels to assist someone who is in more need than you are.

This goes to show if you don't have a collaborative effort for a service-learning project it won't reach the maximum potential. Although, organizing such an initiative requires skills that I'm sure you developed upon.
It sucks that your project didn't go the way you wanted it to, but the whole idea behind it is awesome.
Realising the difference a small project can make is important not just as an individual but more importantly as a teacher, as these are the people who can make the biggest difference from the smallest impact.
Knowing that you realise this and understand it, gives hope for the future learners that you will have as a teacher.
I really do look forward to hearing the impact you have on learners lives.
